Arteta’s Concern Over Gabriel Jesus Injury: “It Doesn’t Look Good”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta revealed on Tuesday that Gabriel Jesus’ injury, which occurred during the third round FA Cup match against Manchester United, does not look good. The Brazilian was forced to leave the field in the final moments of the first half due to discomfort and was immediately sent for scans to determine the severity of the injury.

“We know more now, but the situation is not encouraging. The injury is serious, although we are still awaiting further tests and the opinion of another specialist. We hope to have more information by this afternoon,” Arteta said.

Due to Jesus’ injury, Arteta is facing additional challenges ahead of the North London derby against Tottenham, which takes place in just three days. Arsenal is already dealing with injuries to several key players, including Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ethan Nwaneri, and Ricardo Calafiori, but the manager remains optimistic about some players’ recovery.

“Ricardo Calafiori is getting closer to returning, but we’re not yet sure if he’ll be ready for the derby,” Arteta added. He also emphasized that Jorginho and Jurrien Timber had some tough moments during the Manchester United game, but are now in good condition.

As Arsenal prepares for the next challenge, all eyes are on Jesus’ injury, which could significantly affect the team’s form and plans for the upcoming period.

More information about the injured players’ recovery is expected after the team’s final training session before the match against Tottenham.
