Arsenal are planning a late move to secure the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Mouni, with the aim of beating city rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Italia reports.
Following Gabriel Jesus’ injury, which is suspected to be a fractured anterior cruciate ligament, the Gunners are forced to look for reinforcements in attack. The Brazilian forward will be out for a long time, while Kai Havertz’s unconvincing performances have further highlighted the need for alternatives in attack.
France international Kolo Mouni, who has been described as “extraordinary”, is currently not at the forefront of Luis Enrique’s plans at PSG. The 25-year-old forward has already attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham, who could enter a direct battle for his signature.
Injuries to Bukayo Saka and other key players have further weakened Mikel Arteta’s attacking arsenal, making signing Mouni a priority. Arsenal are expected to speed up negotiations to secure a move before the end of the January transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will be able to lure the French striker to the Emirates or whether Tottenham will have the final say on the transfer.
