Manchester United are the “main favourites” to sign Arsenal’s young stopper Ayden Haven, and leading football journalists agree that negotiations are in the final stages.
According to The Athletic, United are close to agreeing a deal with Arsenal for the 18-year-old defender, who attended the game against Rangers at Old Trafford last week. Fabrizio Romano previously revealed that Heven has also been seen at Eintracht Frankfurt, while Barcelona are also showing an interest in him, but it looks like United will emerge victorious in the race for his signature.
Haven is one of the most talented players in Arsenal’s academy and has already made his debut for the first team in the League Cup this season. However, his departure from the club is becoming more and more certain, and United are ready to bring him in as part of their long-term strategy to strengthen the defence.
The talented stopper is expected to initially play for United’s youth team, but given his potential, he could soon be in contention for a place in the first team, joining the likes of Lenny Yarrow, Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.
United have yet to complete any transfer during the January transfer window, but in addition to Heven, the club are closing in on a deal for Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu.
