As reported by L’Équipe, Arsenal are ready to pay Victor Giokeres’ £84.2 million buyout clause in order to pre-empt Manchester United and secure the Swedish striker’s arrival.
The injury to Gabriel Jesus, who will miss the rest of the season due to ligament problems, forced Mikel Arteta to look for an immediate solution in attack. Given that Kai Havertz is not a classic striker, Arsenal want to bring in a real goalscorer who can contribute immediately.
Giokeres – striker in form
