Chima Moneke believes he can achieve something special with Baskonia in the upcoming season.

Chima Moneke has grown tired of the rumors regarding his future with Baskonia and decided to express his feelings and clear the air on social media.

The Nigerian forward wanted to assure everyone that he is staying in Vitoria. “I don’t know who is making up all these rumors, but they are getting tiresome. I am a Baskonia player and excited for this season,” Moneke wrote, dismissing the rumors about his departure.

Baskonia has brought in coach Pablo Laso and added new players such as Kameron Baldwin, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, and Donta Hall, who have officially joined on two-year contracts.

Moneke believes something good is brewing at Fernando Buesa Arena.

“I talked to coach Laso yesterday and I think we have a chance to do something special this season,” he added in a tweet.

Chima Moneke had an excellent season in the EuroLeague, averaging 13.6 points and 6.6 rebounds for a PIR of 18.3, ranking in the Top 5 in the competition for rebounds and performance index rating.
