The best striker in the world, Erling Haaland, has extended his contract with Manchester City until 2034! This exclusive news was announced this morning by David Ornstein, confirming that the Norwegian goalscorer will remain with the reigning champions of England for at least another nine and a half years.
According to Ornstein, the new contract does not contain an exit clause, meaning that Manchester City have full control over his future. On the other hand, well-known football insider Fabrizio Romano claims that the clauses will exist, but only from 2029, and at a “very high price”.
Official details of Halnad’s salary have not yet been released, but it is certain that the new income will significantly exceed the previous £2.1 million a week, or £25.3 million a year.
Since arriving at Manchester City in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has scored 111 goals and recorded 15 assists in 126 games. In that period, he won two Premier Leagues, the FA Cup, the Community Shield and, most importantly, the Champions League.
The question remains whether the Norwegian made a mistake by sticking to one club for almost his entire career. Will Manchester City remain as dominant as they have been, or will new challenges arise in the future? Only time will tell.
