Marco Reus leaves Borussia: End of an era at Dortmund

Marco Reus, the legendary footballer of Borussia Dortmund, is ending his long and successful career at the club after 12 years of loyalty. The 34-year-old has reached an agreement with club chiefs not to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season, marking the end of an era at the club.

Reus is undeniably one of the greatest players in the club’s history. Born in Dortmund, he spent ten years in the youth ranks of Borussia before moving to the first team in 2012. He was the captain of the team for many years, winning trophies and achieving success with the club. His connection with Borussia is deep and strong.

Hans-Joachim Wacke, the first man of the club, emphasized the importance of Reus for Borussia: “Marco Reus is one of the greatest players of this club. His attachment to Borussia is huge. We wish Mark all the best in the future and hope that he will return to us when his career is over.”

Reus announced his decision to leave via the club’s website, thanking the fans for their support over the years. “I am incredibly grateful and proud of this special time at my beloved club. I already know that it will be difficult for me to say goodbye at the end of the season”, said Royce in an emotional message to the fans.

This moment marks the end of an era at Borussia, but leaves room for memories of the rich career and contribution that Reus has made to the club over the years.
