Pat Williams, Co-founder of Orlando Magic, Passes Away

Pat Williams, one of the co-founders of the Orlando Magic and a man who dedicated his entire life to basketball, has passed away at the age of 84. His family sent a very emotional message following his death:

“Today, he entered his eternal reward, and as believers, we know that this is a reason to celebrate. We find peace through our broken hearts knowing he is in Jesus’ arms. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and brother anyone could wish for—a warrior, hero, visionary, but most importantly, a follower of Jesus larger than life,” their message reads.

Williams was born in Philadelphia, where he spent the last twelve years working as the general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers. It was in his hometown that he began his career as a business manager back in the 1960s. Throughout his illustrious career, Williams also worked as a general manager for the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls.

His contribution to basketball is immeasurable, and his legacy will live on through all those he inspired and the projects he initiated. Williams will be remembered as a visionary and passionate basketball enthusiast, whose dedication to the sport will leave a lasting mark on NBA history.
